The Fundraising Celebration was a wonderful and hugely successful afternoon, raising an incredible $7500 for our charity through the sales, auctions and raffles!
During the afternoon, guests were also treated to a performance by RHPT’s Choir of Sound Intent. The choir performed so beautifully that their audience was moved to tears, singing songs such as Sweet Caroline, Iona and You Say. In addition, several members of the choir shared their personal reflections and information about Parkinson’s Disease. We thank these members for increasing awareness of the disease and congratulate them on effectively speaking with intent!
The afternoon’s success is credited to the generosity of local volunteers and businesses. We want to shine a spotlight on just a few of these legends:
- Scott Grimley and Christian Hunt (our event MCs)
- Andrew Powell MP (for providing a welcoming address)
- Chaffey (Auctioneer)
- Jane Cann (for overseeing the many(!) donations)
- Alison Donaldson (for organising the volunteers)
- Riani Rattray (Choir Director)
- Blackall Range Lions Club volunteers
- The Barn on Flaxton (who not only cheerfully hosted a full house but also generously provided the coffee and cake to everyone)
Thank you also to the many local businesses and individuals who provided the goods and services that were sold or auctioned at the event, and to everyone who attended and contributed towards the fundraiser.
Please enjoy a few photos from the afternoon. Videos of the choir singing can also be found on our Facebook page by clicking here.
