A Joyful Night of Christmas Carols!

What a special evening we shared at Restoring Hope Parkinson’s Therapy’s annual Christmas Carols on Friday —our very first celebration held at the stunning new Hilltop Events Centre at Sundale Palmwoods!

Accompanied by the Nambour Salvation Army Band, RHPT’s Choir of Sound INTENT led the room with festive cheer, delighting the audience with classic Christmas favourites like Joy to the World and Noel, as well as a joyful Christmas medley. The audience were also treated to the gentle melodies of the Maleny Harp Ensemble.

A particularly moving moment of the night was the Tribute to Peter Stidolph, “Guru Amigo,” honouring his passion, service, and dedication to raising awareness of Parkinson’s through Restoring Hope Parkinson’s Therapy. We extend heartfelt thanks to Kevin McAney, “La Quill Amigo,” for creating the moving photo tribute—and for taking up Peter’s baton as Chief Organiser of this year’s Carols event.

We also celebrated Riani Rattray, our founding Choir Director, who received a well-deserved service trophy recognising her five wonderful years establishing the choir. Our current Choir Director, Paula, was presented with a beautiful bouquet in appreciation of her leadership and service throughout 2025.

Huge thanks go to Sundale CEO Cameron Taylor for opening the event, and to our fantastic MCs, Scott Grimley and Christian Hunt, for keeping the festive spirit flowing all evening. We are also deeply grateful to Sundale Chief Operating Officer Adriana Turica and Community Engagement Officer Lisa Beckey for welcoming us into their incredible new venue.

We would also like to thank Marty Hunt MP for his ongoing support, and to Audrey Lyttle and Grant from the Heritage Bank Palmwoods Community Branch—their generous grant helped the choir purchase its sound system and music stands this year.

Also, a heartfelt thank you to Anne Grant and her team of volunteers for the delicious Christmas baking, which added a warm and homely touch to the night’s festivities. Your treats were enjoyed and appreciated by all!

Thank you once again to the Nambour Salvation Army Band, the Maleny Harp Ensemble, and the amazing RHPT community—our Board, staff, volunteers, choir members, families, and supporters—for making this such a special and joy-filled evening.

What a wonderful way to welcome the Christmas season—full of music, gratitude, and festive cheer! 🎄✨
